“I can’t have her, but that doesn’t mean I can’t play with her. Love is impossible, but hate is an open game.”
Rina not only talented BUT damn good at restraint. I have been wanting to know Kim and Xander's story since book one. I wasn't disappointed.
Kim had a lot more demons then we knew and I was hailing her a QUEEN for not showing one card. Instead she was the strong, best friend, everyone needed her to be. The demons we don't see right away in people are the ugliest kind.
Xander on the other hand let him demons turn into vices, ego and popularity. Using his demons to build his walls Kim remained vulnerable on the outside - making it all too easy for Xander to snake his way back into Kim's life after too much silence.
Both giving into their demons we find ourselves thrown off a build by Miss Kent. Face first. Heart shattered. Bones broken. Nothing about their love story is easy, in fact, it gets harder before we see the happy but that makes it all worth it.
Love isn't conquering our demons - some demons never go away. Love is not letting the demons win because now you have someone on your side to fight the battles.
