The Hunter (Boston Belles #1)

A New Adult Romance

Boston Belles: book one

✩✩✩/5

"He was a lonely prince. Untouchable yet in need of a hug. Brilliant, yet deeply misunderstood. Sitting on a throne of broken expectations and disappointment."

Can we just take a moment to appreciate this cover? I mean. As an indie author myself I have to say I appreciate these men on covers 10X more now knowing the pain of finding the right photo, paying for it and how much harder it truly is to find the one.

On to the review... I have to admit the vulgar that is Hunter did not sell me at first. It was probably the longest I have ever taken with an LJ Shen book. I couldn't find myself sympathetic to him until half way through the book when we learn he's more than a pretty face, big bank account and an attitude that doesn't quit.

Sailor is an archer who has never had to live a real life until she takes on babysitting the man child, Hunter. Forced to be more aware of her surroundings he easily pulls her into living color. Sailor quickly realizes her Olympic track was stained with revenge and jealousy that was always going to try to box her into second place.

As these two young lovebirds navigate how to stand on their own we can easily root for their happy ending.

BLURB

Hunter

I didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?

It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.

It just happened.

Now my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.

The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.

Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…

Sailor

I didn’t want this gig, okay?

But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.

I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.

Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?

It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous, charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.

No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.

Even at the cost of losing everything I have.

Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom
