Tell Me Pretty Lies

Lighting in a bottle mixed with some bully romance

Tell Me Pretty Lies by Charliegh Rose

✩✩/5

So I have to admit I have only gotten to read a few of Charleigh Rose's books BUT I was hooked as making a spot for her in my 1-Click Circle.

The imagery in my head for this scenery was hands down on the same level as Rewrite the Stars. I could picture New England's woods, the love for Dunkin' coffee and the barn that acted like a physical manifestation of their love. It was dark, gritty and a constant kind of rain that made their love story only seem darker.

Shayne is our main girl - battling her role when pretty much ping ponging between daughter, parental figure, ignored sister, enemy of these brothers who run the town and the hormones reminding her how much she loved Thayer before her mom broke it off with his dad.

Taboo? Sure... but you love it...

Thayer is angry, illusive, punishing himself and destroying himself in the wake of his brother's death. He's wedged between wanting answers when it comes to his brother's seeming suicide and hating the girl who left him behind after the funeral.

Their parent's broken relationship status truly drove them apart but will they stay apart? Will love conquer Thayer's need for justice?

BLURB

Three things my mother acquired when she became engaged:

1. A brand new Tiffany's ring.

2. A lavish home on Heartbreak Hill.

3. Three privileged stepsons.

The last thing I expected was to fall for one of them, least of all Thayer Ames.

Beautiful, brooding, and untouchable.

I knew it was a bad idea. He warned me himself.

But he was a thunderstorm, and I never could resist the rain.

It was perfect…

Until it wasn’t.

One night was all it took for our world to crumble, leaving only secrets and lies between us.

Now, I have to face him again, but the boy I used to know has become the man who loves to hate me.
